Tallin is a very lovely town, by the sea, colorful, peaceful… I enjoy my visit here, despite the cold.
Dinner at the Korsaar restaurant is another highlight of my trip. It’s decorated like a pirate ship at the underground level. The entire place is full of skeletons, including the candle holders, the wine glasses, etc. The restroom is a huge surprise, with a skeleton faucet and the toilet set inside a treasure chest. As for the food, the squid ink black burger with prawn steak and the pork fillet with marble noodles, with a Southeast Asian fusion element, are delicate and delicious. The dessert is very special, with pistachio mousse wrapped inside the cherry sorbet. It takes 20 minutes to prepare. Everything is full of the chef’s details and art. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in the world! This is the reason why I don’t pick just the number 1 restaurant from TripAdvisor, but choose the number 7 instead. The top ranked one is not always the best for everyone.
Ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki
The Kreutzwald hotel in Tallinn is not so great but the breakfast is decent. It’s another rainy day today, so it’s a good thing that I finished everything on my itinerary yesterday.
The ticket is very costly, 73 Euros for a 2-hour ride. The ferry carries hundreds, if not thousands, of passengers. I run into many Japanese tourists. It’s a huge cruise ship with shops, supermarkets, restaurants, slot machines, etc. This is a pleasant eye-opener for my last day of the trip.
